Throughout the Series[]

Season 1[]

Niko tells Erik that she will lead Salvare

Niko told Erik that she will lead Salvare.

Six months later and still on Earth, Niko and her family are moving because of her husband's job, but she's been asked to lead the Salvare on a deep space mission to investigate the destination the Artifact has been communicating with. Her husband, Erik is disappointed, but Niko is afraid that the mission will fail without her.

While chatting with Erik long distance, Niko is interrupted by William. The ship is circumventing Sirius A and the star doesn't seem to take kindly to the ship being in proximity. Though Ian insists the ship can handle the star, Niko decides they have to fly away.

Erik has been hard at work attempting to communicate with the Artifact. He's tried everything, including using birds as a source for inspiration. He finally makes a breakthrough. Erik discovers that a signal was sent from Earth to Pi Canis Majoris in the 1960s, and relays the same message again. It's a piece of music and the Artifact recognizes it and replays in kind.

Erik is told that USIC has lost contact with the Salvare

Dubois told Erik that they had lost contact with the Salvare.

Erik looks at the alien Artifact which plays Ode to Joy back to them with a four second delay. Dubois tells Erik that they lost contact with the Salvare, and they had a partial communication with their chief engineer, who told her that they were trapped in a decaying orbit around Sirius A with a lot of damage to their engines. Dubois tells him to go home and tells him to take all the time he needs.

Erik tries calling Niko at a restaurant when he is approached by Harper Glass, who he says fucked Niko over nine years ago, but she asks if they can move past it and also asks if Niko was dead. Erik tells her that this was not one of her gossip shows and tells her to leave, but she wants to know the truth and he tells her that he would not answer her questions.

Jana watches Harper's news and starts walking away from Erik, telling him that if he won't do anything about the soldiers then she would, asking if Niko had died. Erik tells her that they had just lost communication, but admits that he should have told her before.

Erik tells his coworker that he had told Harper everything she needed even though he did not ask a question. His coworker tells him that she filled in the gaps, which gives Erik and idea. He believes that the audio the artifact had blasted at them contained something they had not seen: the negative patterns, which was a sort of puzzle.

Erik takes Jana to the Artifact

Erik took Jana to the Artifact, where they both discussed their theories on why the aliens were there.

Erik takes Jana to the artifact and tells her that he thinks the aliens were trying to talk to them because they would already have done bad things to them. He also tells her that he knows Niko is doing fine. Erik also believes that the aliens were testing them, which was what he was figuring out.

Jana tells her parents that she would be making pancakes because Erik and Niko do not want to get out of bed. They rush out when they hear a fire alarm and make breakfast while taking about playing hooky from work. All of a sudden Harper Glass sounds on the news, saying that the Artifact had arrived.

Erik runs and stumbles upon Harper. She is glad to have his attention and tells him that he is on borrowed time in Dubois' eyes. She wonders if he would leave Niko alone so as not to risk his integrity and he leaves.

Erik and Harper bet on trivia

Erik and Harper ended up betting on trivia.

Erik is getting desperate because they cannot crack the song. He tells Singh that they should go to the bar. There, he sees Harper again which angers him. However, she tells him that she only wants the truth. He tells her that if he wins at trivia, she would leave him alone for a month, but if she wins she gets half an hour to talk about The Artifact. At trivia, Erik complains about pop culture questions, but he ends up winning with his team anyway.

While on a run, Erik stumbles upon Harper and gives her a data cube and tells her to put it out there and see if her followers could figure it out.

Dubois berates Erik and Harper

Dubois yelled at Erik and Harper after they revealed classified information.

On Earth, Harper walks with Singh and Erik, discussing a solution to The Artifact proposed by a kid, who says that light is the language and believes that they need to hit the Artifact with a certain amount of soundwaves. They walk into a room, where they find Dubois waiting for them. She knows Erik leaked the information and asks Harper if she knows what North Korea and Russia were doing with her publicity stunt, saying that she could have her deported. Harper tells her that even if she was not born there, she was an American citizen, so Dubois turns to Erik. She tells him that if some kid can figure out what he has not been able to, he might be able to keep his job, but if nothing comes of it, he will spend 50 years in prison.

Erik and Harper take a boat to Old Seattle and talk to Marcus, who explains his theory. He shows them the distortion the waves had and found out what the soundwave looked like.

Marcus asks Erik why he is mumbling, but the latter says he is fine. He asks Marcus to double check his numbers when he is approached by Egan Harrison, Secretary of Defense and Sasha's father.

Erik tells Harrison his next move

Erik told Egan that he wanted to shine lights at the Artifact.

The two go for a walk, and Erik tells him of the plan to shine lights at the Artifact, which was very complex. After that, Erik believes that they'll be able to get to another level of their puzzle and tells him that he would work on more simulations, but the Secretary tells him to begin at sundown.

At sundown, Erik's team gives it a go. It appears to be working at first, and when they turn the last light on, the power goes out. The Secretary starts moving everybody, but Erik tells them to wait. A door opens underneath the Artifact and Erik realizes it was ready to talk.

Later, Erik is approached by Harper as he works and she tells him that she had been approached by Egan. They begin trials, sending a drone into the Artifact. However, as soon as the drone went in, they lost signal. Harper notices some movement and Sasha's image is displayed.

Egan says that they should send a team into the Artifact, but Erik tells him that they should not be baited into it, suggesting that they should send someone inside from his team. Singh agrees to go inside, calling it a dream come true and is prepped, but she feels trapped inside the suit.

Erik tells Jana he would be going into the Artifact

Erik told Jana that he would be going into the Artifact, which she did not like.

Erik greets Jana and tells her that the Artifact had opened a door and lets her know that he would be going in, comforting as well. Jana does not want him to go, but is taken away by her nanny, Mila.

Erik prepares to walk into the Artifact. When he finally walks in, the door closes behind him and he loses signal. He shouts a greeting, but cannot see anything until Sasha appears before him. Sasha turns around and starts walking; as Erik follows, he is suddenly in white clothes and in a classroom. He sees Niko asking him how many nights he had spent working on that problem. He knows that that Niko was not real since that day had been 20 years ago. Niko starts telling him things about them and she manages to convince him it is her.

Erik talks to the Achaia

Erik talked to the Achaia, asking them what they wanted.

Erik sits down next to Niko and asks how they knew which perfume Niko used. He does realize that her skin does not warm the scent the way that Niko's does and asks how and why they were doing that, asking if they had her and her crew. He asks if Niko is safe and the hallucination tells him that Niko was safe and alive, asking him to go with her.

Erik asks the hallucination what they want, and is told that they want to make sure he is happy, but he wants to understand the aliens and help them. The alien tells him that all the answers he needed were in front of him and she points out she is pregnant. The alien hands him chalk in order to solve an unsolvable problem, which he is solving, when called by Jana. Jana turns around and the board is erased, so Erik follows her and walks out of the Artifact, feeling dizzy until he collapses.

Erik tells Egan to tell Jana he is okay and is told that she was waiting outside. He asks if Erik saw Sasha, but he says that he did not know how they used his memory to talk to him and admits that the aliens are a lot more advanced than they were. He says that Sasha led him in, but calls Sasha not the real version of himself. Erik tells him that everybody on the Salvare is alive, but Egan tells him that he had just been mind-fucked by another civilization, but Erik says that the aliens are just as curious as they are, saying that they even offered to tell him everything he had ever wanted to know, but he had chosen his daughter instead.

Outside, Jana greets Erik, apologizing for getting mad, but Erik tells her that it was fine and tells her that the aliens had mentioned her mother is fine.

Singh approaches Erik and tells him that the Secretary was preparing to go inside, so he goes to try to talk him out of it. Jana follows, tricking Mila.

Egan prepares to go inside the Artifact, but as he approaches it, sees Sasha drilling into William's eyes. He calls for his son, and Sasha turns around, but the Artifact starts turning black. Erik approaches from behind as Jana follows and a huge soundwave knocks everybody to the ground. Egan gets up and is blasted once again by Sasha.

Erik gets up and Harper is dragged into the Artifact, which closes behind her. Mila finds Jana on the ground and calls for Erik. When Erik turns around, he finds Jana on the floor, so he picks her up and starts calling for help.

Erik asks for help for Jana, who has the same injuries as everybody except her stomach hurts when the doctor rubs it. She is taken to an operation room while Erik is left outside.

Erik told that Jana has cancer

Erik was told that Jana has cancer, which concerned him a lot.

Dubois asks how Jana is and Erik says that there is nothing he can do, so Dubois tells him that he could come back to work since she was reinstated after Harrison's death. Erik asks for Harper and he realizes that she was still inside. The doctor tells Erik that Jana was producing too many white cells and tells him to open his mouth and says that she wants to check if he is a bone-marrow match, revealing that Jana has acute lymphocytic leukemia. This was due to the Artifact emitting a lot of radiation.

Erik walks up to the Artifact and tells him that he needs answers because it was killing Jana. All of a sudden a door opens once again and Harper came out of the Artifact. Erik hugs and comforts her, telling everyone to call an ambulance.

Erik hugs Jana and is approached by Dubois, who tells him that Harper refuses to talk to her except wanting to find out about him. However, he refuses because the Artifact had attacked Jana, so Harper would have to talk to somebody else because he was done. However, Dubois tells him that Harper was not really Harper anymore and reveals an object akin to Sasha's on her brain.

Harper tells Erik that the Achaia could cure Jana

Harper told Erik that the Achaia could cure Jana.

Erik and Dubois enter the room where Harper is at and she tells him that he looks tired. Erik reads a script and Harper says that she is fine, saying that the implant on her brain was not put on by force. Harper tells him that the aliens were called the Achaia and they liked Erik because he was not quite right. Erik believes that the reason that happened is because she has an audience, but she says that the reason is Jana. Harper says that the energy surge was for the Achaia to protect themselves, but they did not know that Jana was nearby and they know that she has a genetic anomaly which makes her more vulnerable to radiation than most children, but the Achaia could cure her. Erik is dragged away after that.

Erik wants to talk to Harper because she could save Jana, but Dubois does not let him, which makes him really angry.

Erik told he needs to help Harper escape

Harper told Erik that in order to save Jana, he needed to get her out of there.

When Harper eats, she finds a comm device in the silverware. Erik and her start talking and he asks how he could save Jana. Harper tells him that the only way that could happen would be for him to get her out of there.

Erik wants to talk to Harper

Erik wanted to talk to Harper about saving Jana, but he was forced to stay silent.

A doctor tells Erik that she was still seeing high leukemia cells, which would mean that she would die soon if things did not change. Meanwhile, Harper begs Erik to save her as she is dragged away, but he is forced to stay silent.

Erik wears a hat and face mask and walks into a room, where he sees Harper alive and soldiers dead. Harper is crying at a corner and says that the guards were going to kill her.

Erik comes to terms with what Harper did to the guards and wonders how it was even possible for her, but she does not know. Erik offers her his tag so she could move around, but tells her that Jana was dying. Harper tells him to take Jana to the Artifact since the Achaia did not abandon their friends and she takes his tag.

Erik takes Jana to the Artifact. There, Erik whispers that the Artifact would open and apologizes to Jana. As he gets up to leave, the door opens and he walks inside.

Season 2[]

In the Artifact, Erik calls for the Achaia to hold up their end of the bargain after he had helped Harper. A bed appears and Erik tells them that putting an object in Jana's head was not an option, laying her down on the bed.

Erik led out of the Artifact

Erik was led out of the Artifact, which angered him.

Erik waits impatiently, wanting to know how Jana is and asks for a sign to know she is okay. He is met with a door, which he goes into, but is led out of the Artifact. Seth Gage introduces himself and says that the Department of Homeland Security sent him, but Erik does not care. Seth tells him that he cannot help him and wants to talk to Harper, but Seth tells him that they have no idea where Harper is and tells him they should talk.

Jana sits up and tells Niko that Erik was waiting for her outside, but did not want to leave her. Niko tells Jana to go to Erik and tells her that she also needed her to take her ring and keep it safe until they saw each other again. Both of them hug and Jana leaves.

Erik sits at the tent when the Artifact opens once again. Jana runs outside and is met by Erik, who rushes towards her. Niko can hear Erik and runs towards him as well, walking through the door.

At the funeral, Niko approaches Erik and holds his hand. Erik tells her that he had let both her and Jana down and apologizes. Niko realizes the funeral is Jana's and she asks how Jana had died. Erik explains that Jana had gotten sick once again and complains that Niko was not there, just like her mother. Niko asks if the Achaia are threatening her with her daughter's life and declares that there was no future for them. She tells them that if she wants to choose between humanity and her daughter, she would choose the former.

Jana and Erik hug

Jana and Erik hugged after she was healed by the Achaia.

At a hospital, Jana wakes up and sees Erik. He tells her that he knows she feels fine, but asks her to stay in bed. She shows him Niko's ring, which surprises Erik; he tells her that that was Niko's ring and asks where she had gotten it. Jana tells him that she had found her mother in the Artifact and had promised to keep it safe.

Erik tells Niko's mother that he was trying his best

Erik told Ava that he was doing his best when she criticized him.

Erik is seated while Niko's mother helps out with Jana. Erik thanks her for coming and Ava criticizes him for letting Jana be helped by the Achaia, saying that she was worried for Jana's life. She apologizes for her outburst, saying that she had never been able to talk sense into Niko, but thought Erik had his feet on the ground. He tells her that he was trying his best and tells her that she had not lost anyone.

Erik asks Singh what was going on and she wonders if he was absolutely sure that Jana had not brought the ring into the Artifact with her, but he is certain. She says that it has to be Niko's and the Artifact must be a portal which makes Erik realize that Niko must be alive then. Erik calls for Ava, but is kidnapped by someone with a mask on.

Erik kidnapped

Erik was kidnapped by a group of anti-Achaia.

Erik wakes up in a cellar and asks what is happening. A man tells him to be careful since he did not want things attacking him. He realizes where he is and the man tells him that he works for the Achaia, but Erik tells him that he was only trying to communicate with them since he works for USIC. The man tells him to listen and mentions that the Achaia are not friends and instructs him not to help or engage with the Achaia. He asks them who they are and is handed a card.

Erik tells Ava that she needs to take Jana away to be safe and says that he is supposed to contact the Achaia. Ava tells him to go with them, but he argues that his job is the only thing keeping his daughter safe and bringing her wife home.

On Earth, Erik tells Seth that he feels like a cat outside the Artifact and says that he is afraid of the bigger picture - what he would have to give up for food and a warm lap and questions whether or not communicating with the Achaia was the right thing, which Seth confirms. The Artifact opens and Erik walks inside.

The Achaia tell Erik they want to talk

The Achaia told Erik that he could see Niko after they talked.

In the Artifact, Erik calls out and says that sending Jana out with Niko's ring was a nice trick and wondered if they could show his wife. A light shines and he sees the Achaia as himself. He tells him that he could see Niko after they talked.

The Achaia tell Erik they want humans on Earth

The Achaia told Erik that they did not want humans exploring outer space.

Erik asks the Achaia where Niko is, but they tell him that they had lost contact with her and with one of their ships. Erik asks why they are there and the Achaia asks him what was missing from Earth that they could fix. Erik argues that they could start again on another planet and wonders if they need their help, but is told that they do not. However, they want them to stay there. The Achaia tells him that they never want them to explore outer space ever again, in return offering salvation in a ball. The Achaia tells him to place it in a place that was destroyed and witness.

Erik and Singh check out the ball, but they wonder how they should test it out. Singh says that it would change the entire world. Erik asks if they deserve a better world, but they are told that the President would need to decide.

Erik and Singh discuss what could be in the orb. They are told that USIC had received confirmation of a data transmission to the Salvare. Erik is excited that they were alive.

Gift From the Gods

Erik and the rest of USIC found that a forest had formed with the orb the Achaia had given them.

Erik chooses a place that had a lot of health issues for the people who once lived there. They place the orb in a machine, which drops it when they are at a safe distance and see that it causes a rumble. They have no idea what is happening and it explodes, releasing a green wave of dust, which heads right towards them. When they open their eyes, they see that the place which had been pretty much destroyed was now a forest.

Erik finds that there are no contaminants in the soil and calls what the Achaia gave them a gift, but Singh is still skeptical. Erik says that what humanity really needs is a new home, which the government says that the Achaia have a faster solution. Erik does not know if it was too good to be true, but a colleague says that it is a great option, which Singh says is short sighted. Erik says that they do not get to decide and an alarm starts ringing.

Erik says that they had witnessed an entire ecosystem show up in weapons, proving that the Achaia had proven their good intentions. Cas, William, Bernie, Zayn, and Dillon watch the transmission and confirm that Earth was still fine, but they needed a plan to cloak data containing the information which included weaponizing neutrinos against Achaian tech and Cas wants to know if they would be returning in a good or bad way. Iara does not show up when they call her.

Erik says that as far as he could tell, nothing had come out of the wormhole. A data file is received from one of Jupiter's moons. Cas starts broadcasting and introduces herself as commander of the Salvare, which saddens Erik. She sends them their mission to date. She tells them that Niko had sacrificed her chance at returning home like Richard had done. Erik cries at the news.

Later, Erik says that Niko has over two weeks of oxygen and could be saved since the hybrid AI could probably save her. Singh says that it was not that simple, which angers Erik. Singh says that her life is finding answers to the impossible, but she does not have an answer for him. Seth tells Erik that maybe the Achaia could help.

Seth and Erik go to ask the Achaia for help

Seth and Erik went to ask the Achaia for help finding Niko.

Erik goes to the Artifact and tells them that he knows he has asked them for a lot, but says that the task is easy to them, However, the Artifact remains closed until Seth approaches it and the door opens for him. Erik tries to stop him, but Seth does not listen and goes inside.

Erik is handed a cup of coffee by a woman, who talks about her deceased wife and also wonders if the Achaia had found a way to cheat death. The door to the Artifact opens and Seth walks out. Erik tells them that Harper had killed many people when she had the implant on her head and Seth reveals he had accepted the object on his brain. Erik wonders how he could let that happen when his wife was sacrificing her life for the planet. Seth tells him that that would be Niko's legacy, which alters Erik, but he is taken away. After that encounter, Erik looks at the card that the anti-Achaia group had given him.

Erik makes it to the anti-Achaia group and tells them that Seth had a "spider" on his head. He tells the leader to remove her mask, which she does. He tells her that he is there to see Harper Glass since she could talk the Achaia into bringing Niko back.

Anti Achaia try recuiting Erik

The anti-Achaia group tried recruiting Erik, but he refused.

Erik and the woman walk into a room where he sees that they were analyzing an Achaian implant in real-time; however, they never said that it was Harper's. Erik says that Harper and Seth were the only people with an implant. She tells him that Harper had killed some of her people, which means that she had killed Harper by ripping the implant out of her head. Erik complains that her wife would die now, but she offers to help if they receive the data dump, but Erik leaves.

Erik tells Singh that he needs to get to Cas even if it is for a couple of minutes. However, Singh is approached by a soldier who tells her that she needs to leave the site since she no longer had security clearance. Erik complains to Mackenzie telling her that Singh had been taken, which he is told is due to leaks. She tells him that Seth was worried about the leaks, but Erik asks how Seth is relevant if he had an implant in his head, but the woman says that they want to communicate with the Achaia effectively. Seth approaches Erik and asks them if they are ready to receive the crew of the Salvare.

Erik talks to Cas

Erik talked to Cas, wanting to bring Niko back.

Erik calls for Cas and says that Niko could probably be brought back and asks for contact with her, but Cas tells him that Iara is gone and asks if the Achaia would not help him since he had done so much for them. He says that he has not done a lot and says that the Achaia already have their emissary: Seth. Cas says that she knows about the implants and tells Erik that Niko wanted her to tell Erik that she loved both him and Jana very much. Erik tells Cas that Niko would be proud of her as she always was, and Cas proceeds to tell him that her mission was not over since she had stored intelligence with William, but changes the subject when Mackenzie approaches them.

Erik visits Seth's office and sits down. Seth asks him why he had given his bio-ID to their enemies, but he does not know how that happened. When asked who it was, he tells him that a group of self-styled resistance fighters tried to recruit him, but he told him that he was not interested. Seth asks how he could meet with them, but Erik says that he does not have their address. Seth says that when he took over the Achaian portfolio, he put a tracker on Erik and all USIC staff and the two go for a drive.

Seth threatens the anti Achaia group

Seth went over to get rid of the anti Achaia group with Erik.

USIC visits and shoots the self-styled resistance fighters, killing all of them. The leader calls Seth a traitor and yells at him for having an implant. However, Seth says that he is happy with his implant and does not want them to disrupt an Achaian-Human alliance. He asks her for Harper Glass, but she tells him that she would never confess. He grabs her head and starts drilling into her eyes in order to receive information. When Erik tries to stop it a soldier's eyes glow white and he is stopped. Seth then grabs Erik's head and smiles, saying that Erik had told the truth and asks him to be careful with his bio-readings and advises him to stay friendly.

Seth, Erik, and Mackenzie try connecting the dots

Seth, Erik, and Mackenzie tried finding out what had happened with the magnetar.

Mackenzie tells Erik that Niko had been a competent commander, but Seth says that was until they encountered a magnetar. They mention that Javier was left dead after an unnecessary medical procedure. Seth and Mackenzie know that the crew of the Salvare was being dishonest, so Erik recognizes that they wanted to use his wife's memory to manipulate them, which he refuses to do. Seth tells him that he gets it, but they are using him since they want to know what happened around the magnetar. Seth tells him that he could get that information by other means but does not want to resort to that.

Erik tells Cas that he would conduct her exit interview. He asks why Javier had come home brain dead. Dillon says that Sasha and his Achaian implant had done that to Javier. Zayn says that ze took a chance with the surgery, which worked until they encountered the magnetar. Bernie says that while the implant was protecting Javier, it was also being destroyed faster than it could be repaired. Cas explains that they did not leave the magnetar because both Niko and herself were still on the Achaian ring at the time. They thought it would be best to remove Javier's implant since it was deteriorating, but Zayn says that they were not able to determine why. Erik says that it does not make sense and knows that something happened around the magnetar and tells Cas that all he wants is to complete Niko's mission. Cas tells him that they had all made sacrifices and leaves.

Cas finds out Seth had wiped her memory

Cas found out that Seth had wiped her memory when Erik started asking questions.

Cas gets a knock at her door; Erik says that he hopes he is not being followed and asks her what information she was withholding, but she says that she had not revealed anything to him. Erik asks her to remember what she had told him, but she says that she does not remember. Erik asks if she remembers anything about the magnetar and she thinks it is weird that she does not remember. Erik tells her that Seth had probably wiped her memory

Group finds out Seth had been going through their heads

The group found out that Seth had been going through their heads.

Zeyn tells Bernie, Dillon, Cas, and Erik that she remembers the magnetar, but they know that Seth had gone into their brains to retrieve information. Zayn apologizes for having given information in order to save hir mother. Cas says that the Achaia had also offered her something, so she understands. Bernie says that the Achaia are helping them, but Dillon says that they need to follow Niko's orders. However, Bernie thinks Niko is dead; Erik tells him that Niko died so he could be there. They say that William is who knows all the information they need, so they say that they will race Seth in order to get there first.

William tries to contact Erik, who does not pick up. He tries Cas, but is blocked and is hurt by Seth, who ordered for him to be moved to the particle accelerator. Seth tells him that he needs information, since he is part Achaia, just like William. He reminds him what high-density neutrinos do to Achaians and knows that he was trying to turn it into a weapon.

USIC shows up at the hotel, so Erik gathers Cas, Dillon, Zayn, and Bernie so they could go. Erik tells them that they were going after them since they had talked to him. Cas wonders if they could download William, but Dillon says that the only people with that kind of storage capacity was USIC, so Bernie suggests the Salvare's supply shuttles.

Cas and Erik try to get into USIC, but Erik's security ID is not working. Once it finally works, he goes in with Cas, making it to the Salvare's supply shuttle.

Cas and Erik make it onto the Achaia

Cas and Erik finally made it onto the Salvare.

Cas and Erik call for William, but he does not respond. Erik is surprised and tells Cas that he had never been in a spaceship before and also says that it was the closest he had felt to him since she had left. William hears Cas, but he cannot leave since Ursula and Seth are working on him. He asks Ursula why she is helping the Achaia and she says that it was because humans were murderers and they were meant to be liberated by the Achaia. She says she thought she could save the world and he tells her that she had made him, but she tells him about Gabriel. She wonders how many crew they had killed and says that she would let the aliens do it. William tells her that the information she had was the only thing that could save them from the Achaia, but she is still helping Seth and says that she would crack his encryptions and then delete him.

William reaches Erik and Cas, telling them that Ursula had located the data, but is brought back. Cas grabs an axe and both of them head towards Seth. Both of them fight USIC security, though Cas does a better job of it, so Erik is dragged away.

Seth threatens Erik

Seth threatened to kill Erik if he did not accept an implant.

Erik is taken to Seth, saying that he is disappointed at Ursula for working for him. Ursula tells Seth that it was not necessary to force William, but Seth does not listen to her and tells William that he could proceed. He tells Erik that Niko is alive and safe, but what they needed in order to bring her home was for him to accept an implant, becoming William in the process. Erik reminds William that Niko trusted him and Seth says that he would call Jana, asking her how she would feel becoming an orphan, so Erik accepts.

Seth shoots a guard, telling Ursula that she needed to press delete on the data William was decrypting. The guard's implant comes out and heads towards Erik. Seth tells William to jump in before he changed his mind. However, William refuses until Niko and Richard were safe.

Niko and Erik call for William and Cas. Erik cannot believe it and yells out happily, while William also reports he is alive. Richard tells Niko that he would introduce himself to the soldiers while Erik tells Niko that she needs to talk to Cas and William because Seth said that the Achaia were on their way. Niko asks if the neutrino weapon is working, but William says that he has been struggling with it.

Cas drags Seth away while Erik understands how neutrinos worked on the Achaia with William. William says that they need more neutrinos, but whenever he did it, the magnetic confinement was overheated. Erik asks if they could back off on the accelerator beam, directed equal power into the cooling systems and then toggled between the two. Ursula, William, and Erik give the theory a go.

Niko tells Mackenzie that she needs to talk to the joint chiefs

Niko and Richard told Mackenzie that they needed to talk to the joint chiefs.

Niko and Richard tell Mackenzie that they need to talk to the joint chiefs. Mackenzie says that she has been trying to find Seth, which Niko found strange since he had gone rogue, probably for the same reason they were expecting the Achaia to attack, since they knew what kills them. Mackenzie keeps discussing, but Niko interrupts her, asking to speak to the Joint Chiefs. Niko asks Erik how things are going, and says that they are doing good, having converted the Salvare into a neutrino bomb, which worries Niko, but William says that if they were able to destroy a cluster of ships, then Ursula would have time to release the data to the world, so everybody could have their own bombs, which Cas does not support.

Erik says that maybe they do not need bombs, since when the magnetar had destroyed the Achaian ship, they had been towing it, and proposes to do the same thing with the neutrinos. William realizes that he could make the neutrinos a gun with the ship. However, the problem was that USIC engineers had already started dismantling the FTL drive, so Niko and Ursula say that they would fix it.

Big explosion

While Erik worked on the bomb, everybody saw a big explosion in the sky.

Cas tells Erik and Ursula that she needs the weapon, but they are not ready. Niko tells Cas, Erik, and William to abandon ship, but in the sky, they see a big explosion, which shocks her, Richard, Zayn, Bernie, and Dillon.

Niko, Richard, Bernie, Zayn, and Dillon are all in shock as they see that the Salvare had been blown up by the Achaia. Everybody is happy that the neutrino bomb had worked, and Niko asks if it could work again, but William says that they do not have enough time. Mackenzie asks what they could do now, and Cas says that there was only one way to find out, which would be using Seth.

Erik wonders if artificial gravity was getting in their way, but William simply says that he was picking up a massive buildup of Cherenkov radiation, mentioning that dozens of wormholes were opening up, which was an Achaian invasion force.

Niko and Erik see each other once again and hug. He gives her her wedding ring back, which she accepts back and tells him that she had seen Jana.

Niko gathers the crew and tells them that they have 59 rings around Earth, which Dillon says is too much for them. Everybody discusses how they could beat the Achaia and agree that they need to think outside the box. Cas wonders if they do not want what they have, but would blow up their planet if they did not roll over, which they cannot understand. Niko says that they are seemignly impenetrable, but William says that they are not.

Crew discusses how to defeat the Achaia

The crew discussed how they could defeat the Achaia.

William tells the crew that their coding was DNA, but they now had an analysis into the Achaia at a microscopic level. Zayn asks if it was a model of their DNA, but is told that it was a real scan. Ze sees that the characters were an actual part of the makeup of the Achaia, which was odd. Bernie asks why the Achaia need a written language, which makes Erik think that those things were not the Achaia, but William's evolution. Cas wonders what the Achaia really are and wonder if the real Achaia had been killed off. Niko dismisses that as unimportant and says that they need to fight them. Dillon suggests using a computer virus, which Erik says could be possible. Zayn mentions a flesh and blood version of a trojan horse and says that they could implant the virus into one of them.

Zayn tells the crew that every member of the Salvare has a hard wire that goes into their brain stem for Soma so they could inject the virus using Soma. Once the Achaian melded with it, it would catch the virus. Niko asks if ze wanted her to let an Achaian feed off a member of the crew and Zayn says that just long enough to get it back down to the Artifact and release it along with the malware. Niko asks what she needs to do, but Erik does not want her to and Cas volunteers instead, saying she knew how to beat the Achaia as well.

Zayn tells Erik and Cas that Niko is generally doing fine, but she was in a coma. Zayn has no idea if that is due to the Achaia or an injury. Erik says that the Achaia are draining her, while Richard, Ursula, and William say that they were finally able to mask a human virus with the Achaian code. Erik says that they could not release the virus remotely, since he would go in there and let the Achaian take over him, knowing he does not have Soma hardware. William tells Erik that Niko wanted to do it herself, so Erik says that he would do it alone.

Erik walks inside the room where Niko was at and asks if she could hear him. She starts moving strangely, cracking her joints as the Achaian talked through her. The Achaia says that it does not want her and tries ripping off her flesh since flesh was primitive and disgusting. Erik asks if Niko is safe, but does not get an answer.

Erik tries talking peace with the Achaia

Erik tried talking peace with the Achaia, but when they refused, he released the virus.

The Achaian feels trapped, but Erik tells it that it was keeping it alive as well. Erik asks if they brought it down to the Artifact if it would release Niko and resume peace talks. The Achaian refuses this offer and keeps cracking Niko's joints. Erik releases the virus after that, which was successfully transmitted to Niko's soma implant.

Cas and Erik bring Niko to the Artifact, discussing who would be the one to bring her inside. She tells him to think about Jana, so Erik talks to the Achaian, telling it to open the door. Cas brings her in, but Erik kisses her before they go.

Erik stays vigilant at the clock and begs for Niko to hurry up.

Achaia starts getting destroyed

The Achaia started getting destroyed when the virus finally started working.

Erik sees as the Artifact starts splitting in half. Suddenly, the Achaian Niko was fighting starts feeling pain. Niko grabs its gun and points it at it, shooting it and destroying the Achaia. She grabs Cas and they leave the Artifact, which starts collapsing and is finally destroyed.

Niko hugs her family

After all the events on the Salvare and defeating the Achaia, Niko was finally able to hug her family.

Erik approaches Niko and tells her that Jana was there to talk to her. Niko approaches her daughter and gives her a hug. Niko asks how she had made it in there and her daughter tells her that it was thanks to her grandmother. Niko thanks her mother and asks her to join their family hug.
